Hi, I’m Verena Theile, the faculty leader for this year’s STUDY ABROAD program. Ever since I joined the NDSU English department in the fall of 2008, I’ve been wanting to put together a Study Abroad program for our students.
Traveling them with them to the UK for the third time this year, I’m excited that we have been able to add Ireland to our itinerary and glad such a great troop of people has come together.
Together, we’ve decided to explore the connections between early modern and popular culture through our program, and we’ve included such diverse tourist spots as the Globe Theatre, the Sherlock Holmes museum, the WB Harry Potter Experience, the British Library, Jorvik and the Witches’ Graves in York on our itinerary.
Fun and education are likely to coincide this summer!
